As the owner of the company, I try to keep things simple, but I must give the legal stuff.

Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms,” “Terms of Use”) carefully before using the
https://theweescottishshops.com website (the “Service”) operated by The Wee Scottish Shop (“us,”
“we,” or “our”).

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with
these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any
part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

Terms & Conditions for the Wee Scottish Shop

1. Contract

All purchases will form part of a contract between the purchaser and the wee Scottish Shop

2. Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Scottish Law and
you hereby agree to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Scotland.

3. Shipping Information

Please note that all orders are dispatched on our next working day, and that at certain times of year, we are not open every day of week. Christmas is also a very busy time and it could be 2 working days before being shipped. If something need to be shipped for a deadline, please contact us at 01700 503334 or by email before placing the order

We will despatch all orders to the delivery address provided by the purchaser. We will not be held
responsible in any way if an incorrect postcode or delivery address is given by the purchaser. We will
not refund postage or pay compensation for any goods as a result of an incorrect address.

We strongly recommend that the customer provides the email address and a local contact telephone
number, preferably a mobile number, for the recipient at the time the order is placed.

We normally only ship within UK, but can ship to other countries by prier agreement. Please do not place a order on site from another country and choose “pickup” This is incorrect shipping and will result in a calculation fee of £5 or 50% of any amount paid, whatever the greatest. Contact up through contact page and we can provide a price for shipping to other countries. Please also read notes below.

It is the responsibility of the sender and the recipient to contact the courier and customs with any
clearance delays and address queries. It is always best that you provide a realistic delivery date and
we will endeavour to deliver it as close as possible to that date. This may not be possible during our
busy periods in December. If you do not provide this information, we will deliver your order as soon
as we have the item in stock and will email you when your order has been despatched. At that point,
you are responsible for accepting the delivery of your order.

We will not be responsible for perishable items being delivered late which results in the goods being
out of date. We will not refund any perishable goods after a delivery attempt has been made.

If you have rearranged a delivery date with our courier, we will not be held responsible for any damage done to the packaging or if the delay has made the contents go out of date.

4. Customer Complaints

We will respond to all complaints within three working days.

5. Quality of Goods

We guarantee that all our products are of the highest quality.

6. Force Majeure

We will make every reasonable effort to meet any quoted or despatch date.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage due to delays or failure to ship resulting from any cause
beyond its control, such as unforeseen weather conditions, compliance with laws or regulations, acts
of God, acts of civil or military authority, judicial action, delay in transportation, embargoes, labour
disputes, wars, or riots.

7. Privacy Statement

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about
you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998).

We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to
provide you with the best possible customer service.

The type of information that we collect about you includes Your Name, Address, contact number,
email address, debit//credit card information.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your permission.

8. Stock Levels

We do our best to ensure qualities are kept up to date on website inventory system but sometimes
things happen where an item runs out

We reserve the right to send you substitute items if an ordered item is out of stock.

9. International Deliveries (outside the UK )

Please note due to Brexit regulations we cannot deliver out with the UK Mainland without prier agreement

10. Returned Goods/Refund

If you request a refund, we will happily provide one but we must be in possession of returned goods
before we refund you. All packaging must be totally intact and unopened.

The customer will be responsible for the cost of return postage.

If there is any damage to any products customers must provide photographic evidence of it within
24 hours of receipt of their parcel.

Customers do not have the legal right to any remedy for problems:

  • caused by them damaging or misusing the goods, accidently or otherwise
  • they knew about before they bought the goods

If the goods are faulty, then customers have the legal right to one of the following remedies:

  • a full or part refund
  • a replacement
  • a price reduction

The remedy depends on the circumstances of each sale and agreement of parties.

11. Unforeseen Weather Conditions

We always despatch all orders in accordance with the customer’s instructions.

We will not be responsible for any delay in the delivery of goods which have been held up by bad
weather.

We will not refund goods or shipping charges for such delays. By accepting our terms and conditions
at the checkout, you are strictly bound by this clause.

12. Stock Levels

We reserve the right to substitute items, but will always endeavour to supply a similar item to the
same or greater value than the product being substituted.

We will always try to contact you in event an item is out of stock but in failure to do so we may
replace with similar product.

13. Dates of Products

We try to provide the longest dates possible to customers. Our policy when shipping products out is to provide a minimum shelf life as set out below. If you have any questions about dates please contact us before placing order and we can tell you dates.

Tablet / crisps 3 to 6 weeks (please note tablet is always 6 weeks at most as it is made without preserves)

Jams / Chutney / Preserves / Tea / Coffee 6 months

Sauces 3 months

Sweets / Chocolate products / biscuit products 8 weeks
